Buffalo Grove High School's musical tells story of 'The Grinch'

The Buffalo Grove High School Music Department will present the second annual Winter Celebration, a musical storytelling of the beloved children's classic, "The Grinch," on Sunday, Dec. 9, at the school, 1100 W. Dundee Road, Buffalo Grove.

The concert, which begins at 4 p.m., will feature the combined bands, combined choirs, and the Buffalo Grove High School full orchestras. Music selections include popular pieces from the story such as "You're a Mean One, Mr. Grinch," as well as selections that aid in telling the story such as "Minor Alterations" and "Tintinnabulations" and of course Leroy Anderson's classic "Sleigh Ride."

Concessions will be available before, during and after the performance. Coloring pages, designed by Buffalo Grove music student Tanya Khazin, will be included in the program for little ones to color along as they hear the sounds of the story. Also includes craft station, Instrument Petting Zoo, and pictures with Santa.
