Hometown holiday rescheduled

Due to expected strong winds and heavy rain, Hawthorn Woods's Hometown Holiday event planned for Saturday, Dec. 1, has been has rescheduled to Friday, Dec. 7. Activities start at 5:30 p.m. with the tree lighting and an appearance by Santa at Community Park, North Old McHenry Road and Quentin Road followed by crafts and cocoa at the village barn, 2 Lagoon Drive, at 6 p.m. and the showing of "A Christmas Carol" at 7 p.m. Participants are advised that Santa will appear only at the tree lighting and will not be available for individual visits.
