Geneva resuming leaf pickup; may have special brush pickup
Geneva will try to finish curbside leaf collection in two west-side zones, starting Monday.
It's the second round for Zones B and C, which are west of the Fox River. Zone A already had a complete second pickup.
Also on Monday, the city council will discuss whether to schedule a special brush collection to take care of limb and tree damage done by the Nov. 25-26 snowstorm. The contractor would charge the city up to $19,484, according to a memo in the council's packet.
The council meets at 7 p.m. at city hall, 22 S. First St.
City officials expect much of the snowpack to melt over the weekend, due to warmer temperatures and rain.
The city had planned to do a third round of leaf collection in December. That is being postponed until March.
Residents can also get rid of leaves by putting them in brown paper yard-waste bags on their regular garbage pickup days. No sticker is required. No yard waste, brush or grass clippings will be allowed.
