Koffee Kup in Lake Zurich celebrating 40 years in business Saturday

The Koffee Kup Restaurant in Lake Zurich is celebrating 40 years in business Saturday, Dec. 1. Owning a restaurant was a lifelong dream for Joanne Chudik, who always loved cooking for others. She realized that dream in 1978 when she purchased the diner at 30 E. Main St. Chudik's teenage children Bob and Susie worked there from the start and in 1993 Bob and his wife Sheila Chudik took over. Mayor Thomas Poynton said Koffee Kup has been a local downtown Lake Zurich institution that everybody knows and enjoys. As a way of thanking, its Lake Zurich neighbors and loyal customers, everything is 40 percent off on Saturday.
