Police in northwestern Indiana shoot teen in stolen vehicle

HAMMOND, Ind. (AP) - Authorities say police in northwestern Indiana shot a teen after a chase involving a stolen vehicle.

Indiana State Police say the 15-year-old male suspect suffered a non-life-threatening injury in the shooting Tuesday morning. They did not say where on his body the teen was wounded.

Police say the teen is black, as are two of three Hammond police officers involved in the shooting. The other officer is Hispanic. The officers' names weren't immediately released.

Police say no other details were being released.
