Indianapolis, Fort Wayne residents can take aging surveys

WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. (AP) - Residents of Indianapolis and Fort Wayne ages 45 and older have until Dec. 15 to complete an online survey designed to provide information to improve the quality of life for older citizens.

AARP Indiana is working with Purdue University's Center for Regional Development to assess the age-friendliness of Indianapolis and Fort Wayne. The Livable Communities Survey will determine attitudes and opinions of respondents on a variety of topics including housing, health, job opportunities and volunteering and civic engagement.

Michael Wilcox, who's overseeing the survey for the Purdue center, says it only takes about 10 minutes to complete, "but its findings have the potential to create a positive impact for older citizens for decades to come." Responses are anonymous.

The Indianapolis survey is online , as is the Fort Wayne survey.
