Continental donating cars to 8 families
NAPERVILLE - For the eighth consecutive year, Continental Motors is partnering with Naperville-based Loaves and Fishes Community Services and its CARES Car Donation Program to put eight area families in need back on the road. On Thursday, Dec. 6, the families will be presented with cars as part of the annual "Driven to Care" event at Continental Toyota in Hodgkins. "Many families in Chicagoland are just one missed paycheck away from a major financial crisis," said Joel Weinberger, dealer principal of Continental Acura, Audi, and Mazda and AutoSports. "A 'bump' in the road can be worse without an independent and reliable means of transportation." The recipients completed an application process through the Loaves & Fishes CARES Program and will receive quality used vehicles donated by Continental Motors Group. Continental has donated 56 cars to families over the years "and helped transform their lives by providing stability and hope for a better future," Loaves & Fishes CEO Mike Havala said. Loaves & Fishes has been working since 1984 to end hunger and help make its clients more self-sufficient. For details, visit www.loaves-fishes.org.
