Naperville Park District to offer women's 3 v 3 basketball league starting Dec. 4

Adult men's basketball leagues draw enthusiastic participants to Fort Hill Activity Center for weekly games, continuing a program that began many years ago through the Naperville Park District in school gyms.

So far, the Naperville Park District has not hosted a basketball league for women, due to a lack of interest from residents, but is proposing to begin a women's 3-on-3 league this winter.

"A group of women interested in playing basketball approached us with a request to start a league for them," explained Program Manager Fred Gusel, "so we are proposing to host a 3 v 3 league on Tuesday evenings at Fort Hill Activity Center beginning Dece. 4. We are asking interested players to get the word out about this brand new program."

The league will play from 7:45 to 9:45 p.m. Tuesdays from Dec. 4 through April 16. There will be no games on Dec. 25 or Jan. 1.

Play will include 12 games and playoffs in the gymnasium at Fort Hill Activity Center, located at 20 Fort Hill Drive. Women ages 18 and up are invited to form teams of 6 players.

Please note that teams may not include players who are in high school.

Teams may register online at www.napervilleparks.org and may email Fred Gusel with questions at fgusel@napervilleparks.org.

Registrations are due by Tuesday, Nov. 27.
