Missouri, Robin Pingeton agree to 4-year contract extension

COLUMBIA, Mo. (AP) - Missouri women's basketball coach Robin Pingeton has signed a four-year contract extension that would keep her with the Tigers through the 2024-25 season.

The school announced the extension in a statement Wednesday.

Pingeton has led the Tigers to three consecutive NCAA Tournaments for the first time since 1984-86, helping the school establish its program in the upper echelon of the SEC. Pingeton is 150-109 in nine seasons at Missouri and 485-266 overall after stints at St. Ambrose and Illinois State.

Athletic director Jim Sterk praised Pingeton for restoring Missouri's "proud women's basketball tradition," and said the new contract demonstrates its commitment to the program. The Tigers are off to a 3-1 start this season.
