Lombard garage fire causes $13,000 in damage, no injuries

No injuries were reported Tuesday in a fire that broke out in a detached garage in Lombard, authorities said.

Firefighters responded shortly before 11 p.m. Monday to reports of smoke coming from a garage on the 100 block of East 14th Place.

Crews brought the fire under control within 15 minutes, officials said.

Damage is estimated at roughly $13,000 and investigators are still probing the cause of the fire.

Firefighters from Downers Grove, Oak Brook, Villa Park and the York Center Fire Protection District assisted.
