'Holly Trolley' hits road for holidays in Elmhurst

The Explore Elmhurst Trolley is returning for another season as the holiday "Holly Trolley" from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. Saturdays, Nov. 24 through Dec. 29.

The Holly Trolley will follow the same route as the summer trolley, but with some special holiday themed programs that include:

• 4-6 p.m. Nov. 24: Elmhurst Choral Union Chamber Singers.

• 1-3 p.m. Dec. 1: "It's a Wonderful Life" trivia sponsored by Elmhurst History Museum.

• 4-4:30 p.m. Dec. 1: Santa rides the trolley to the City Centre Hometown Holiday Block Party.

• 4-6 p.m. Dec. 8: Elsa rides the trolley.

• 2-2:30 p.m. Dec. 15: Elmhurst Public Library Storytime.

• 4-6 p.m. Dec. 22: Elmhurst Choral Union Chamber Singers.

• 4-6 p.m. Dec. 29: Elsa rides the trolley.

The trolley will connect three shopping districts: Elmhurst City Centre, Spring Road, and York and Vallette. In addition to the stores and restaurants in these areas, the trolley will connect residents to many holiday events.

Businesses also are participating in the program by offering specials on days when the trolley is running. The offers will be listed in the merchant's window.

The city developed the Explore Elmhurst Trolley program as part of the Explore Elmhurst campaign, designed to encourage all potential consumers (residents and visitors) to explore the happenings within the community. For a list of offers and holiday events, visit ExploreElmhurst.com.
