Belvidere man killed in McHenry County crash

An autopsy is scheduled Sunday for a Belvidere man killed Friday in a two-vehicle crash near Union, the McHenry County Coroner's Office said.
Ryan B. Weberpal, 40, was killed when the car he was driving was struck by a truck at Route 176 and Union Road, authorities said Saturday.
Firefighters from Marengo-Union Fire and Rescue and Woodstock Fire and Rescue and McHenry County sheriff's deputies responded to the crash after it was reported by a 9-1-1 call at about 5:35 p.m. Friday. Weberpal was pronounced dead at the scene at 5:45 p.m.
The truck driver was taken to Northwestern Hospital in Huntley.
The crash remains under investigation by the McHenry County Sheriff's Office Accident Investigation Unit and the coroner's office.
