One injured after being struck by a car in Elgin

A pedestrian was injured after being struck by a car Thursday, authorities said.

Police said the victim was walking near the intersection of McLean Boulevard and Main Lane at about 7:15 p.m. when the person was struck by a 2004 Jaguar driven by a 49-year-old male from Carpentersville.

The Jaguar was traveling south on McLean when the 50-year-old pedestrian was hit by the car when trying to cross the street, authorities said.

The victim was transported to the hospital in stable condition, authorities said.

The incident remains under investigation.
