Encouragement for all from election judges
I loved the article on election judges ("Different parties, but these election judges work together;" Nov. 4). I have served continually as an election judge since my retirement in 2012. One of the proud traditions we've held at my usual polling assignment is announcing when we have a first-time voter (the young men and women are usually accompanied by a parent). Upon the announcement, all the judges (and usually voters) give the new voter a standing ovation.
