Candy is not dandy
I have to question the wisdom in passing on unwanted Halloween candy to anyone, let alone folks who benefit from the Vernon Township Food Pantry. Families at the lower end of the socioeconomic spectrum tend to receive less, or less-effective, dental care and are at greater risk for dental disease. While I'm sure the Vernon Area Public Library's heart is in the right place, they should consider other ways to exchange that candy for more nutritious and healthful foods for the food bank's patrons.
