Janus performing 'Caesar Unrehearsed' in Elgin this weekend

Janus Theatre will continue its Elgin Shakespeare Project, which examines original theatrical practices of William Shakespeare plays, with "Caesar Unrehearsed" this weekend at the Elgin Public House.

Cast members will perform the political drama "Julius Caesar" - about Roman senators who assassinate their leader because they fear he will make himself king - with scrolls in hand and without benefit of rehearsal.

Doing so, says artistic director Sean Hargadon, "brings a spontaneity and improvisational quality to the performance."

The performances are free.
