Muncie man gets 39 years for confining 3, nail gun attack
MUNCIE, Ind. (AP) - A central Indiana man convicted of holding three people against their will and attacking one with a nail gun has been sentenced to 39 years in prison.
The Star Press reports 58-year-old Robert A. Walton of Muncie learned his sentence Wednesday after a jury in September found him guilty of 11 felony charges, including three counts each of criminal confinement and intimidation, and four counts of battery with a deadly weapon.
Walton and a co-defendant were accused of holding two women and a man against their will in a Muncie building in 2016. One of the women testified Walton used an air gun to shoot nails into both of her legs, her torso and one of her feet.
Walton said Wednesday he "felt terrible" and wished "that it never happened."
