Consider early education while voting

Sixty percent of children who are eligible for early education programs like Head Start are not enrolled, mostly due to a lack of slots available. That means that 133,000 Illinois kids will miss out completely on an early education experience, primarily due to the high cost and lack of access.

As a student who was fortunate to attend preschool, I could not imagine how different my life would be without my education. I consider myself privileged because I got this opportunity, but in reality, education should not be considered a privilege. All kids deserve the same chance to fulfill their potential.

A child's brain is mostly developed by age five when they start kindergarten. So a lack of an early childhood education will cause too many of our children to fall behind every year, and many of these children will likely never catch up to their peers.

This issue is preventable with your help. Go out today and vote for kids by choosing a candidate who supports giving all Illinois kids a strong start in life.
