St. Charles man found guilty of child sex assault
A St. Charles man was found guilty of sexually assaulting a child he knew between 2013 and 2015 and faces at least 51 years in prison, officials said.
Christopher J. Jackson, 46, was convicted of 12 counts of criminal sexual assault and two counts of aggravated criminal sexual abuse Tuesday, according to a news release from the Kane County state's attorney's office.
Jury deliberations took less than an hour, the release said.
Jackson was free on $7,500 bond, but it was revoked, and he was taken to the Kane County jail, the release said.
"Christopher Jackson's selfish crimes victimized an innocent child," Kane County State's Attorney Joe McMahon said in the release. "He'll have a long time to think about that in prison."
Jackson will have to register as a sex offender and is set to appear in court Dec. 20 for sentencing.
