Painter wins third term on DuPage Forest board

Republican Linda Painter appears poised to serve a third term on the DuPage Forest Preserve Commission.

With 151 of 162 precincts reporting, Painter has 30,576 votes, around 53.5 percent of the total, and Democratic challenger Irfan Ibrahim has just 26,566, around 46.6 percent. The unofficial total does not contain provisional ballots.

Painter was first elected to the commission in 2008. This year her seat was the only contested race for commissioner.

Ibrahim is a physical therapist from Hinsdale.

The district covers all or parts of Burr Ridge, Clarendon Hills, Downers Grove, Hinsdale, Lemont, Naperville, Westmont and Willowbrook.
