Maine retains seat on Lake County Board

Republican Lake County Board member Ann Maine of Lincolnshire retained her position in District 21 Tuesday, unofficial vote totals show.

Maine, a 16-year veteran of the board and the president of the Lake County Forest Preserve District board, defeated Democrat Susan Malter of Lincolnshire.

With all 27 precincts and early votes reporting late Tuesday, Maine won the contest 8,053 to 7,343, unofficial results showed.

Maine campaigned on a record of fiscal prudency and environmental protections. Malter ran as a reformer who wanted more transparency in county government.
