Hanover Township to distribute Thanksgiving meals

Hanover Township will distribute Thanksgiving meal boxes to qualifying families, beginning from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 15, at the Hanover Township Astor Avenue Community Center, 7431 Astor Ave. in Hanover Park.

Meal boxes also will be distributed from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Friday, Nov. 16; 9 to 11 a.m. Saturday, November 17; and 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Monday, Nov. 19, to Wednesday, Nov. 21, while supplies last.

Residents can pre-register for a meal box beginning Nov. 5 and must provide a valid ID and food pantry card, or utility bill. Only one meal box will be distributed per household.

Each meal box contains a 12- to 14-pound frozen turkey, canned fruits and vegetables, coffee, dessert and gravy mix, instant potatoes and stuffing mix.
