Libertyville loan institution robbed at gunpoint
Libertyville police are investigating a reported armed robbery early Friday afternoon at OneMain Financial, a loan institution at 1312 S. Milwaukee Ave. in the Red Top Plaza center.
Police said they received a call just before 1 p.m. Employees said the man displayed a handgun and took an undermined amount of cash. According to police, the robber was described by employees as a dark-skinned black man, 5 feet 6 inches tall. The man had a skinny build, was wearing a dark curly wig, large sunglasses, a gray knee-length coat with a hood and was carrying a dark blue or black purse, police said. The robber fled on foot.
