A lack of responsibility in Congress

The biggest danger to every American family isn't ISIS, or North Korea, or China, or Russia. It's a catastrophic illness resulting in bankruptcy. So why do the Republicans and Randy Hultgren continue to try to take away health insurance from millions of Americans? Where's that "big beautiful health care plan" we were promised a few years ago?

Hultgren and his fellow Republicans, who at one time supported fiscal responsibility and free trade, have either lost their minds or lost their courage to speak out against Donald Trump. Last weekend Hultgren sought and received Trump's blessing at a campaign rally in Murphysboro, hundreds of miles from his own district. Being beholden to Trump is more than enough to disqualify him for office.

The Founding Fathers believed in checks and balances in government. A Congress, a presidency, and, increasingly, a judiciary controlled by one party isn't what they had in mind. That's why Lauren Underwood is the better choice for Congress in the 14th District.
