Northern Indiana missionary fatally shot in Cameroon
MISHAWAKA, Ind. (AP) - A missionary from northern Indiana has been fatally shot in the African nation of Cameroon.
Republican Rep. Tim Wesco of Osceola confirmed the death Tuesday morning of his older brother, Charles Wesco of Mishawaka.
Tim Wesco said of his brother, "He loved the Lord. He loved people. The Lord giveth. The Lord taketh away. Blessed be the name of the Lord."
Details of the shooting were not immediately available.
Gov. Eric Holcomb issued a statement saying he and his wife, Janet, "are thinking of Rep. Tim Wesco and his family as they grieve the death of his brother Charles. We ask that all Hoosiers join us in offering prayers and condolences to the Wesco family."
