District 54 plans 2.1 percent tax levy increase
Schaumburg Township Elementary District 54 school board members have unanimously set the district's estimated property tax levy at $180 million, a 2.1 percent increase from the 2017 levy.
A public hearing on the levy and its formal adoption are scheduled for 7 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 15, at the district's administration building, 524 E. Schaumburg Road in Schaumburg.
At the Oct. 18 meeting at which the estimated levy was set, Assistant Superintendent for Business Operations Ric King reported a 0.48 percent growth in the district's equalized assessed value from new construction.
King added that District 54 remains debt free and not in need of additional money to pay off prior debt.
