BatFest fills downtown Batavia with family fun
BatFest, Batavia's annual Halloween-themed family event, attracted about 2,500 ghouls to the downtown Saturday.
The day began with United Way's BatFest 5K/10K Run/Walk at 8:30 a.m. on North River Street, Batavia. Costumes were encouraged and race proceeds benefited area nonprofits.
After the run, BatFest ran from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. with activities including downtown trick-or-treating, the Mothers' Club Parade, pumpkin bowl, contests, BatArt and games. The events took place around downtown and at the Batavia Riverwalk and Peg Bond Pavilion. The day also featured the last outdoor farmers market of the season.
