St. Charles Golden K Kiwanis begin new year of service with installation banquet

The St. Charles Golden K Kiwanis Club installed the new 2018-19 officers at the 17th annual Installation Banquet held on Sept. 20 at the Dunham Woods Riding Club in Wayne.

Many thanks to Past Division 10 Lt. Governor Carl Ziegler for officiating the retirement/installation of the club's officers and board members for the old and new fiscal years.

The officers for 2018-19 are: Peter Herbert, president; Kathy Fleming, president-elect; Pat Kitner, past president; Tico Conover, secretary; and Catherine Harrington, treasurer.

The board of directors are: Carol Patterson and Kathy Brens (2019); Jon Duerr and Susan Jump (2020); and Barb Arloff and Marilyn Schave (2021).

Judi Peterson and Bonnie Dearborn are in charge of club programming.

The committee chairs are: Toni DeCola, Coffee Czar; Ginger Krichbaum, Christmas Bell Ringing; Susan Jump, Roses; Kathy Brens and Mary Ann Tilton, Garage Sale; Jon Duerr, Peanuts; Kathy Brens, Youth Services; Toni DeCola, Bowl-athon; Marie Hammel, Community Services; Johan Bayer, Membership Orientation; Public Relations and Nancy French; Mary Ann Tilton, Kiwanis One Day.

Congratulations to "Kiwanian of the Year" Ginger Krichbaum for responding so gracefully when "Kiwanis Calls."

Kiwanis is an international service organization that locally supports numerous youth and children's programs including the Builders Club at Wredling Middle School in St. Charles, and an international program to eliminate iodine deficiency syndrome in children.

The St. Charles Golden K Kiwanis Club meets at 9:30 a.m. on the first and third Thursdays of each month at St. John Neumann Catholic Church, 2900 E. Main St. in St. Charles. They welcome new members to join them in achieving the club's service goals and to help with making a difference in the community.
