Girls cross country: Grant's Negovetich runs to regional title

At the Class 3A girls cross country regional at Grant Saturday, Aly Negovetich of Grant won the individual title in a the of 17:53 to help the Bulldogs get second place as a team.

Palatine won the team title and will advance along with Grant, Barrington, Cary-Grove, Lake Zurich and Jacobs.

Emily Burns was Lake Zurich's top finisher, placing sixth in 18:31.

Fatima Giron (18:11) and Diane Flade (21:23) of Round Lake will also advance as individuals.
