Hoffman Estates Fire Dept. hosts open house Oct. 20

The Hoffman Estates Fire Department will host its final open house for Fire Prevention Month from 1 to 4 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 20, at Station 21, 225 Flagstaff Lane in Hoffman Estates.

The 2018 open houses demonstrate the difference between sprinkler-protected homes and homes without them. The major difference is what occurs within the first three minutes of a fire.

Residents are invited to come and see the live burn demonstration. In addition, there will be snacks, an obstacle course for kids, crafts and other activities for the family.
