Endorsement: Daily Herald backs Cunningham over Jimenez for Kane County clerk

In the race for Kane County Clerk, incumbent John "Jack" Cunningham faces challengerger Nicholas "Nico" Jimenez.

Cunningham, who will be running for his fifth term as clerk, says he still has the spark to do the job.

Jiminez, a quality assurance manager from Elburn, is a newcomer to countywide politics but has been a democratic precinct committeeperson. Cunningham and Jiminez agree on most points from the conversion to paper ballots for upcoming elections to the need to cut costs wherever possible.

Jiminez is a sharp candidate and eager to serve, but because of Cunningham's depth of knowledge of the office, we endorse him for Kane County clerk.
