Coroner: Bones found outside Gary Church are human

GARY, Ind. (AP) - A coroner says bones discovered outside a church in Gary were human.

Lake County Coroner Merrilee Frey confirmed Tuesday the human nature of the bones that were discovered the day before outside Christ Temple Community Church.

Frey says the age, race and sex of the deceased person is unknown, and the cause and manner of death also remain undetermined.

Gary Police Cmdr. Jack Hamady tells The (Northwest Indiana) Times a skull was found outside the church.
