Put Maggie Trevor's experience to work in Springfield
Recently, I attended a forum in Arlington Heights to hear from several candidates who are seeking local office. Like any Illinois taxpayer concerned about the budget and health care in our state, I listened to those who offered real solutions to our problems.
I was impressed with Maggie Trevor's answers to the questions raised in the forum. She understands what needs to happen in Springfield, unlike our current state representative. I think Maggie's experience speaks for itself, and her common-sense approach is what is necessary to get things done. She is a former university professor, health care researcher and entrepreneur - unique qualifications that make her well-equipped to tackle Springfield's complex problems.
Maggie will fight for access to health care and to lower property taxes and income taxes for families in our area, unlike her opponent - who merely wants to freeze them, which keeps them artificially high with no relief. Her opponent said no to a budget for over two years, said no to protecting those who suffer from pre-existing conditions, said no to funding our schools equitably, and even voted against the historic Equal Rights Amendment.
He did say yes, however, to taking money from Dick Uihlein - who proudly funded the 2017 Senate campaign of accused child molester Roy Moore, an Alabama Republican.
Like many of us, I think it's time for a change.
