Endorsement: Daily Herald recommends Taylor over Petzel for Lake County Board District 19

Lake Co. Board D19: Taylor

Geoffrey Petzel is challenging nine-year incumbent Craig Taylor for Lake County Board District 19. He's listed as a Democrat but says he prefers to act independently. He has not held elected office, but he has run for U.S. Congress twice. He likes to say the "county spends money just to spend money," but his views are really more nuanced. Republican Taylor also prioritizes property tax relief, as well as road projects and flood control. Petzel is passionate but short on details. Taylor has considerable experience and better perspective on county operations. We endorse Taylor.
