Downtown St. Charles Partnership seeks Christmas parade entries

The Downtown St. Charles Partnership is now accepting entries for the annual Electric Christmas Parade, which will take place at 5:30 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 24, on Main Street in St. Charles.

Local businesses, community groups and nonprofits are encouraged to participate. The deadline for entries is Friday, Oct. 20. Entries must submit three items to info@downtownstcharles.org: an entry application, insurance forms and an entry fee. All forms can be found on the event webpage at www.downtownstcharles.org/holidays, and the entry fee is $275 for businesses, $150 for DSCP members and $25 for nonprofit organizations.

New this year, registration also is open online and can be found at www.downtownstcharles.org/holidays.

The two-day Holiday Homecoming event kicks off at 6 p.m. Friday, Nov. 23, with Lighting of the Lights on the First Street Plaza. Then, on Saturday, Nov. 24, there will be a holiday movie at the Arcada Theatre at 10 a.m., sleigh rides and visits with Santa on the First Street Plaza beginning at 1 p.m. The day culminates with the Electric Christmas Parade. All Holiday Homecoming events and activities are free.

The Electric Christmas Parade features bands, parade floats and Santa Claus. The event is organized by the Downtown St. Charles Partnership and made possible by sponsorship support, including Presenting Sponsor Fox Valley Auto Group.
