Suburban habitats: Readers' photos of local wildlife

There is no scientific data that says more and more people look for, post or comment about animals and assorted wildlife. We just know it to be true.

Check out our Daily Herald Suburban Wildlife Facebook page, www.facebook.com/groups/SuburbanWildlife/. There, you will find what many people have asked us about: A place to share your neighborhood coyote sightings and other related snapshots.

So far, the photos are very good.

The group is a place that goes beyond coyotes. Share your photos of wildlife in your own backyards. Offer tips on getting squirrels out of your attic. How do you keep skunks from digging up your yard? And help neighbors identify those strange animal tracks.

We contribute by sharing columns from our wildlife experts, pictures from our talented photographers and other animal stories that lend themselves to this page.

Today, we are offering a sampling of what we've liked over the past month. We think you will, too.

So have some fun, and let's talk Suburban Wildlife ... and there is a gallery of more pictures at dailyherald.com.
