Prosecutors want ex-Indiana town marshal jailed until trial

VAN BUREN, Ind. (AP) - Prosecutors are asking a judge to lock up a former Indiana town marshal until his trial on charges that he allegedly took medication from a home while in uniform.

The Chronicle-Tribune reports the request was made after state police said Donald R. Bosley took prescription pain pills from his mother's house on Sept. 27 and left the state earlier this month. Prosecutors say he's in violation of his bond. His trial is scheduled for Jan. 28.

The Associated Press left a message Wednesday seeking comment from Bosley's lawyer.

The Van Buren town marshal was arrested in July on burglary and theft charges. A Van Buren resident told police he recognized Bosley on video surveillance.

Van Buren is located about 65 miles (105 kilometers) northeast of Indianapolis.
