I prepared a ham, cheesy pear and fig tart which is accompanied by a butternut squash, sweet potato, and apple hash. I chose these dishes because I thought the sweet and savory would be perfect as we are coming into fall and I felt that the two dishes complimented each other very well. I think my most stressful thing during the cooking process was that I couldn't decide if I should use a pie shell or puff pastry and then if I should make the crust from scratch and I decided not to. Also, I don't eat pork, so I was unable to taste the tart. Nobody was home to taste it, but I did bring it to a neighbor, and he asked for more!!!! There was no rhyme or reason to how I placed the ingredients as long as you were able to taste everything.

I enjoyed the whole experience. To me, cooking makes me happy as long as I have Bob Marley singing in the background.

I could have made a better presentation, but HOPEFULLY, I will make it to the next round to prove myself better.
