Tuesday Morning Quarterback

Daily Herald Report

Name: Jake Bruner

School: Neuqua Valley

Year: Senior

Best thing about being an offensive lineman: Every play pretty much you have a chance go one-on-one with a dude from a different team and just try to dominate them, I guess.

Worst thing about being an offensive lineman: You probably get this a lot, but doing a lot of the dirty work and not getting most of the glory.

Don't tell my coach that: Coming into high school football was my No. 2 sport. I was a pretty good basketball player. Coming into freshman year I didn't even know I'd play football past my freshman year.

If I could change one thing about football: The game is changing, I guess, especially with the NFL. With all the rules, the game's getting soft, I guess you could say.

Team not on our schedule I wish we could play: Definitely Montini. I have a couple buddies over there. They're a good team and that'd be a good game.

How I'll celebrate if I score a TD: I'd probably have one of our running backs do the "Rocket Ship" for me, when they lift me up.

Twitter, Facebook, Instagram or Snapchat: Definitely Twitter. I could scroll through Twitter for hours and keep myself entertained. There's always funny stuff on there.

What I like best about my school: The environment, I guess, and all the teachers are really cool. It's just a great school and I can trust my teachers.

Something about me that would surprise you: I do not know. I'm pretty funny. People who don't know me don't know that.

Other sports I play: Right now I just play football and rugby.

Favorite actor: Definitely Will Ferrell. I love comedy movies, and "Step Brothers" is my favorite movie of all time.

Favorite actress: Probably Amy Schumer. She's in a lot of good comedy movies, too, she's pretty funny.

Favorite athlete: Of all time it's probably Derrick Rose. I grew up watching him when I was like 7 or 8 and he was just insane watching him when I was little.

Favorite musician: I'd probably say Drake is my favorite musician. I've been listening to him since his first album and every song he puts out is really good.

The stat

Five DuPage County teams entered Week 7 unbeaten, and five exited the same way. Glenbard East, IC Catholic Prep, Lisle, Montini and Willowbrook all improved to 7-0.

The tweet

"I love Jack Jopes."

- Naperville Central senior linebacker Matt Oliver (@mattoliver2320) in the wake of Jopes' last-minute game-winning interception return for a touchdown that gave the Redhawks Friday's 21-14 victory over Neuqua Valley.
