Ghosts, Goblins and Monsters (Oh My) Invade Palatine Saturday, October 27, 2018!

Ghouls just want to have fun - so grab a group and join the spooky 13th annual Halloween Hustle 5K and Kids Dash in downtown Palatine Saturday, October 27, 2018! The 5K walk/run begins just west of the downtown area at 345 Eric Drive, and winds through the historic downtown neighborhood. The ½ mile Kids Dash for kids ages 3-12 begins at 8:10 a.m. and the 5K starts at 8:30 a.m. This event is hosted by Palatine-based event company, Adrenaline Special Events (ASE).

Bone chilling excitement will abound as participants are suited up in their Halloween costumes. In addition to walkers and runners, 'mummies' with children in strollers are also invited to get in on the Halloween fun, but are asked to start at the back of the pack.

"We're celebrating our 13th year hosting this event and it is fang-tastic to be building on that," said Aaron Del Mar, ASE founder. "There's no better way to kick off the Halloween weekend!"

Proceeds from the Halloween Hustle will benefit Fathers Helping Fathers, a national not-for-profit organization dedicated to supporting fathers' rights through education and resources to fortify parenting skills, which help to build more solid relationships between fathers and their children. The Palatine Township Food Pantry will also benefit from race proceeds. In-need Palatine Township residents can utilize the Food Pantry once each month for groceries and other household needs, free of charge.

5K participants receive a long sleeve dri-fit t-shirt with registration; customized Halloween Hustle medals will be given to each adult participant who completes the course. All Kid Dashers receive a trick-or-treat bag, youth t-shirt, and a pumpkin at the finish line. An epic after party at Tap House Grill, 56 W. Wilson Street in downtown Palatine immediately follows the race, where awards for the best individual, group and kids costume, and top placers in the different age categories, will be announced.
