Stepping stone?

Oh, for Pete's sake. Why does Peter Breen feel the need to pad his resume? He makes it look like he was acting president of the Village of Lombard for two years, "2012 to 2013."

His "term" was really only for a few months, from Oct. 2, 2012, to Jan. 16, 2013, when another trustee was sworn in as acting president. Lombard residents will recall that this all came about because the trustees divided into two voting blocs after the death of longtime village president Bill Mueller in August 2012. They dug in their heels and it took them more than a month to decide how to temporarily fill the vacancy. Breen and a trustee of the other faction each took a turn until May, when Keith Giagnorio was seated following his election.

Why does he feel the need to include this short stint? Maybe he sees it as a steppingstone on a path to power. That's what it looks like to us.
