Endorsement: The Daily Herald recommends Willis over Airdo for Illinois House District 77

In Illinois House District 77, which encompasses the area south of O'Hare International Airport and includes the towns of Bensenville, Villa Park, Norridge, Stone Park and Melrose Park, incumbent Democrat Kathleen Willis is being challenged by Republican Anthony Airdo of Melrose Park. Willis, who is seeking her fourth term, has supported property tax exemptions for seniors and veterans, as well as measures to reduce property tax dependence by local schools. Airdo, who ran for the same office in 2016 and listed himself as a sales director and church volunteer, did not respond to repeated requests for an interview. But given Willis' track record in Springfield, we endorse her with confidence the district will be well served by keeping her in office.
