Hanover Township families can apply for holiday aid

Hanover Township families facing financial hardship can now apply for the annual December holiday sponsor-a-family and toy drive programs.

Applications will be accepted from 9 to 11 a.m. on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays at the Astor Avenue Community Center, 7431 Astor Ave. in Hanover Park. Residents must be signed in by 10:30 a.m. to guarantee an appointment. Applications will be accepted until Dec. 19.

Required documents include a valid ID, utility bill dated within the last 30 days, birth certificate for children up to 15 years old or medical card, and proof of income covering the last 30 days prior to the date of the application. Additional items may be requested.
