No-wake boating restriction on Fox River south of Chain O' Lakes

Due to high water, a boating restriction has been imposed on the Fox River from the Chain O' Lakes south through the Algonquin Dam, authorities said Friday.

Officials made the no-wake declaration at 8 a.m. The Chain remains open at this time, but is being closely monitored by the Fox Waterway Agency in Fox Lake.

No-wake means boats are not allowed to travel at speeds greater than 5 mph and not allowed to create a wake behind their boat.

A debris advisory remains in effect throughout the entire Fox Watershed system.
