National award for Hawthorn Woods

Hawthorn Woods recently was named one of the best place to live in the U.S. as part of the 2018 America in Bloom National Awards Program.

The village was the winner in the 5,000 to 10,000 population category, receiving a rating of eight of a possible 10 stars. Over two days, judges toured the community and met with municipal officials, residents, and volunteers. Participants were evaluated on overall impression, community vitality, environmental efforts, heritage celebration, urban forestry, landscaped area, and flowers, as well as community involvement across municipal, residential, and commercial sectors.

America in Bloom is a nonprofit group based in Columbus, Ohio that promotes beautification programs and personal and community involvement through the use of flowers, plants, trees, and other enhancements.
