Ragdale presents Rags to Witches Oct. 20
Ragdale's third annual costumed, creative spookfest is coming Saturday, Oct. 20, beginning at 3 p.m. Guests and little monsters will be spellbound by live performances, hands-on art projects, games, and seasonal tastings throughout the haunted estate.
Artist-led activities planned for the event include:
• A scavenger hunt through the "pet cemetery" and beyond
• Spirited performances in the Witches Ring
• Costume contest with prizes
• Creepy arts and crafts
• Ghostly storytelling and writing
• Sweet Shoppe with cider and snacks, cash bar
Rags to Witches is inspired by the work of Ragdale artists and features an original performance with the ghosts of Ragdale's founding family, the Shaws, and their curious pets. Costumes are encouraged and prizes will be awarded.
New this year is the "After Dark" party for teens and adults from 6-8 p.m. As the light dims, both floors of the Ragdale House will be transformed into a haunted house inhabited by the spooky spirits of Ragdale's past shaking the walls and walking the halls.
Special performances, live music, and eerie visual effects will create the mood for the dead to dance and ghosts to fly.
Tickets for the daytime portion, from 3-6 p.m., are for all ages and cost $20 for adults, $15 for children, or $60 per household (limit four) in advance, or $25 for adults and $20 for children at the door.
After Dark events, from 6-8 p.m., are for teens and adults, and are $40 for an After Dark-only ticket or $25 to upgrade a daytime ticket. Buy tickets and learn more at ragdale.org.
