Sweet Home Gelato to Make Its Home in Downtown Highland Park

New Gelato Concept to Open November 2018

HIGHLAND PARK, IL (OCTOBER 2018) - Sweet Home Gelato will soon find its home in Downtown Highland Park at 617 Central Avenue. The new gelato concept will open its doors November 2018 with complimentary samples, seasonal varieties and 'just in time for the holidays' catering.

Sweet Home Gelato will offer premium gelato made fresh on site with ingredients from Italian purveyors, along with an extended menu. Customers can look forward to enjoying a newly renovated environment with a welcoming, warm and modern atmosphere.

With less fat than ice cream, but boasting more flavor, gelato has seen a surge in popularity in recent years. Gelato is softer, smoother and denser than ice cream because less air is churned into it, and it also has less butterfat. Its warmer temperature is what gives it a stronger flavor as well. Offering artisan flavors such as sea salt caramel, pistachio, dark chocolate, and roasted almond, Sweet Home Gelato is thrilled to call Downtown Highland Park home.

This independently owned family business looks forward to continuing working with the local community and being a place to meet with friends, business associates or have family outings. They will offer a secluded area for meetings and small gatherings, as well as off-site catering for private events.

Plans are underway for the implementation of such customer-friendly programs as: 'fast pass' ordering kiosks for those loyal customers that know their order and don't want to wait in line, a frequent customer rewards program, and an Italian pastries and integrated coffee program.
