Borussia Dortmund extends young star Jadon Sancho's contract

DORTMUND, Germany (AP) - Borussia Dortmund has extended English prospect Jadon Sancho's contract by another two years to 2022 following his impressive start to the season.

Sancho joined Dortmund from Manchester City at age 17 in August 2017, but the club was allowed to give him only a three-year deal at the time due to his age.

Dortmund sporting director Michael Zorc says Sancho is "without doubt one of the most exciting players in Europe," and the contract extension is acknowledgement of "the extremely positive development he's made."

Sancho has made 18 Bundesliga appearances, one in the Champions League, and one in the German Cup. This season he has one goal and set up five more in 130 minutes over six league appearances.
