Round Lake trick-or-treating hours set

Official trick-or-treating hours in Round Lake have been set for 1 to 5 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 28.

Police are urging people remember several safety pointers to keep Halloween spooky and fun: Adults or older teens are urged to walk with their children; trick-or-Treat in your own neighborhood and only go to houses where it appears people are at home; parents should know the exact route their children are taking; inform children to never enter a stranger's house when invited; and make sure costumes fit properly to prevent tripping and falling and allow for clear and unrestricted vision.

Parents also should examine their children's treats when they return home, and report anything suspicious to police. Check out the tips on the village website at eroundlake.com.
