Deerfield man dies after being pulled from pond

Deerfield police responded to a medical call near the 500 block of Lake-Cook Road about 7:30 a.m. Monday found a 62-year-old man unresponsive in a retention pond, according to a news release from the Deerfield Police Department.

The man was taken to Highland Park Hospital and was pronounced dead at 8:01 a.m., according to the release.

Deerfield police and the Lake County coroner's office were investigating, but there were no immediate signs of foul play, authorities said.
